Saturday Andy, Claudia, Kaytie, and Mark met up in Stockton and invited Paul, Vince and myself to lunch. It was fun and yummy. Claudia informed us that Jack, her father, had fallen and fractured his neck. He's in the hospital in Modesto. We wish him all the best and hope he gets well soon.
Here is the update on Jack...the good news is, he did not break his neck as they told us he did in Merced. The neurosurgeon in Modesto says that he definitely has compression in his neck but that it is from age, degeneration, and arthritis. She also said that she was "very unimpressed with the hospital in Merced and either the quality of the x-rays or the judgment of the radiologist." We couldn't agree more...Dad spent a miserable 48 hrs flat on his back in a neck brace unable to move, eat, or do anything because they misread. The only consolation is at least they misread and were over cautious, rather than missing something that could have been disastrous. We've been very impressed with his care at Memorial hospital in Modesto. They tell us that he'll probably be able to come home on Wednesday...he does still have a low heart rate, spiking blood pressure and is on antibiotics due to an elevated white blood count. Thank you for all of the prayers, they are a big help.
