Aidan Dae Berg

We have a new member in the family!! Jan wrote (my cousin on my mother's side of the family). Her son, Eric, and daughter-in-law, Nancy, had a baby boy last night! (early this morning!)

Nancy had to have a Cesarean because the baby was breech and refused to turn around. They already had it scheduled for next Friday when her water broke early this morning. They called us at around 3:30 a.m. to let us know they were at the hospital and she'd be going in for surgery around 5 a.m. They didn't take her until after 6 a.m. and she had a boy, 7 and a half pounds and 20 inches long. They've named him Aidan Dae Berg. The Dae is for her Korean heritage. If it had been a girl, the middle name would have been Kim, Nancy's maiden name. Nancy's twin sister will be out to help around the 22nd and her mom will be here the last week of the month. Aidan arrived early as he wasn't due until the 23-26 of the month, so all their schedules are a bit out of whack.

The most amazing part is that Eric got to be in with Nancy during the surgery (screened off, of course), and got to see the baby delivered when they called him around the screen at the very end. I guess they do that to make it seem more like a normal delivery. Eric sounded pretty amazed! But he said he was going to catch some sleep (they live about 10 minutes from the hospital) as he only had about 2 hours all night.

Nancy is doing well but will have to stay for 3 or 4 days to recover from surgery. Aidan's temperature was fluctuating, so the last I heard he was resting on Nancy's chest. We'll be going down to see them tomorrow after church. Can't wait to see the newest Berg!

I'm hoping Jan or Eric will send pictures as soon as they have some.
